Sr. Analyst, Consumer Insights - Irvine, CA
In this capacity you will be responsible for:

If you love digging for information on an unending variety of subjects, are the kind of person who would rather write an essay than take a multiple choice test, and don’t mind an informal workplace filled with toys and creative people, then Strottman is your kind of place.  We are looking for a Sr. Analyst, Consumer Insights to attack the following:  

  • Information and Trend Gathering – Assist VP, Insights in keeping up-to-date on news and developments in agency’s clients’ industries, including restaurants, consumer package goods, movies, television, toys, and consumer brand promotions
  • Data Archiving – Catalog and organize primary and secondary research data and product samples/images electronically
  • Quarterly Reports – Prepare quarterly reports including: 1) QSR industry competitive review, 2) General consumer/product trends report, 3) Other ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Social Media & Mobile Apps/Web Become agency’s primary resource on information and trends related to social media and mobile apps/web.  Regularly monitor Facebook, Twitter, and blog activities, as well as mobile app introductions of QSR and major family-focused consumer and entertainment brands in order to pass along relevant information and updates to Agency clients and internal teams
  • On-line Survey Design and Programming – become proficient in Qualtrics survey software application to be able to design, program and tabulate results of quantitative client research projects
  • Client and New Business Pitch Presentation Support – Assist with all aspects of preparing client and new business presentations

Qualified applicants interested in this opportunity must have:
  • Bachelors Degree and 3-4 years experience to include business-related research; experience in youth/family product marketing, consumer packaged goods, and primary/secondary research techniques preferred
  • Unique ability to concisely summarize, analyze and report relevant findings and insights
  • Superior verbal/written communication skills a must as well as convey compelling points-of-view
  • Savvy to, and “in the know” about, trends relevant to today’s kids and families
  • Up-to-date on current movies, TV programs, video games, and other entertainment media
  • Experienced using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as blogs
  • Comfortable walking into a retail store and snapping some photos of product displays without getting yelled at
  • Able to find innovative ways of digging up answers to a wide variety of questions and challenges using only publicly-available information and databases on the web
  • Not shy when it comes to talking to consumers or store employees on the phone or in person
  • Expert in internet search as well as MS Word, PowerPoint, & Excel; experience using Prezi, LexisNexis or Factiva a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented and focused
  • Ability to not take yourself too seriously and have fun at work
